On April 20th, the 2nd year students of ESMOD Jakarta gone on a trip to Bandung as a part of Discovery Textile workshop. We were accompanied by the textile design instructors from ITB. We assembled at ESMOD at 5.30 and took off right at 6.00 by bus.

Our first destination is Gusto Sign. Gusto Sign is a company engaged in producing goods for company's promotional support, such as laser cutting and laser engraving service; including textile laser cut for fashion purposes.

In the lobby, there are many samples of product such as invitation letters, trophies, and engraved papers. The factory is located in the back of the building. The staff explained the difference between each machine and demonstrated on how the machine works. They even gave us free sample of acrylic and wood carving product!

Next, we headed to Neuclub, a textile printing company located inside Paskal Hyper Square. The staff introduced us tot he world of textile printing; the process, the machine and tools, the kind of fabric suitable and not suitable for textile printing, all while showing us various samples of printed fabrics. As the clock struck 12, we went to have lunch at Paskal Food Market.

At 13.00, we took off to our last destination, Cigondewah. Cigondewah is one of the biggest textile market located in South Bandung. Cigondewah is one of designer's choice to get a unique and limited textiles with low price. They provide many kind of textiles such as cotton, jersey, denim, silm, brocade, and many more. Supporting material and supplies such as thread, button, and zipper are also available! We were given about 2 hours to explore the market.

After 2 hours passed, we went back to the bus with tons of plastic bags in hand and headed back to Jakarta. We would like to say thank you to all of textile design instructors from ITB for assisting us the whole day! We're very happy to discovered and experienced many new things to help us with our future projects :)
